Christ the King

Daniel 7:13-14. The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty – Psalm 92(93):1-2, 5. Apocalypse 1:5-8. John 18:33-37.

In our world there is a desire for truth. Governments and businesses promote this through ‘whistle-blower protection’ policies and legislation. The reality of our world proves that the courage required to speak out is enormous. Although the majority of whistle-blowers are vindicated their experience is often harrowing and career damaging. Our conscience informs us that the truth is worth the cost and many people make the decision to present the truth rather than feign ignorance. There is much to be gained in being honest and seeking truth. The most important outcome is knowing we have chosen God’s will and we serve truth over temptation. Jesus had a choice before Pilate to lie and walk away from what was about to be done to him. He chose truth. A king always chooses truth. Today let us be even more aware of presenting the truth and speaking out to defend what is right.
